Best Photo and Video Apps for Your Next Vacation

Best Photo Apps for Vacation

It’s said that the best camera is the one you have with you. For most of us, that’s our smartphone!

I find that my smartphone camera more than does the job when it comes to vacation photography, and you just can’t beat the ease and portability.

That said, I still love getting creative while shooting and editing family vacation photos and videos. Keep reading to find out which apps are my top picks!

VSCO is easily my favorite iOS photo editing app. When you download the app, you can choose from 10 pre-set filters, and you’ll have the option to buy more. After you select your filter (or choose to use none), you can easily fine-tune your editing to make the image pop. I adore the moody, analog quality that I can achieve using this app. It’s my go-to smartphone photography app.

Quik by GoPro

Have you ever admired your friends’ gorgeous photo slideshows complete with music and captions? You don’t need to learn how to edit video when you use the incredible Quik by GoPro app. With just a few taps you’ll be creating incredible presentations using the images and video clips in your photo library. This app is a game changer and will truly transform your vacation photos and movies into something special.

Boomerang for Instagram

If you want to capture dynamic glimpses of your next traveling adventure, be sure to try this simple yet fun app from Instagram called Boomerang. It allows you to create a short, looping video that you can easily share with friends and family.

Slow Shutter Cam

Have you ever wondered how professional photographers paint with light or capture that beautiful mist over a stream or waterfall? With the Slow Shutter Cam app you can let your artistic side shine by experimenting with different shutter speeds to capture compelling photographs on your next family vacation.

Why just take simple family snapshots when you can create breathtaking art? Fused invites you to blend photos and video clips to create one-of-a-kind double exposure style images that go way beyond your average picture or video. This is also a great app for creative teens in your family who are interested in art, photography and video.

Each of these apps is special in its own way and can help enhance the photos and videos that you take on your next traveling adventure. I hope you’ll try them all!
