Give the Gift of Travel Memories: Photo Cube

Looking for a special gift for that serial vacationer in your life? Think about a photo cube! Travel photos in frames are nice. But they’re so… two-dimensional. A photo cube provides that third dimension to uniquely showcase those froze-in-time vacation memories.

Photo cubes are quite easy to make and so fun to display. It’s as if the photos are begging for people to pick them up and interact with them. When making one as a gift for someone else, just grab their vacation photos from Facebook or Instagram and craft away!

How to Make a Travel Memories Photo Cube:

  • Wooden cube
  • White or silver metallic paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Photos, maps, tickets, etc.
  • Ruler
  • Pencil
  • Hobby knife
  • Cutting mat
  • Decoupage glue

  1. Paint the wooden cube and let it dry.
  2. Meanwhile, measure and cut each photo, map, etc. so they are about half an inch smaller than each side of the cube.
  3. Using decoupage glue, adhere the images to sides of the cube and then paint over the images with additional decoupage glue and wait for them to dry.
Note: You will need to apply images to five sides of the cube, wait for them to dry, and then repeat the process for the sixth side.
