Maui Visitor Information
Kahului Airport, on the beautiful island of Maui, is eager to welcome you for your Hawaiian vacation.
Kahului Airport is the primary airport on Maui. It accepts both overseas flights and those between the Hawaiian Islands, so you may come to the airport more than once during your days of exploring Hawaii. To get the most out of your time on Maui, be sure to rent a car because public transportation may not let you get the full flavor of the island. After you hop in your rental, you can dig into some of the island's best attractions.
There are a handful of companies near the airport that offer air tours of the island. Experience breathtaking views of the ocean, Hawaii's greenery, and volcanoes. You can choose from Volcano Air Tours, Air Maui, and Blue Hawaiian Helicopter Tours, among others.
Kanaha Beach Park
Less than one mile from the airport is Kanaha Beach Park. Here, you can go for a swim, play volleyball, or enjoy a picnic. Take lots of pictures. The park offers views of the West Maui Mountains Iao Valley. It's also a great place for windsurfing.
A short drive away from the airport, you'll find a few companies that offer an amazing zipline experience. Take in a spectacular view of the island as the wind rushes past your face and adrenaline pumps in your veins. Maui Zipline Company is 5.6 miles from the airport, and Flyin Hawaiian Zipline is 6.7 miles from the airport. If you're nervous about ziplining, be sure to ask your guide lots of questions; their expertise can help put your mind at ease.
Maui Swap Meet
If you're arriving on a Saturday, head to the Maui Exposition to experience the Maui Swap Meet. Admission costs $0.50, and it opens a world of beautiful local goods to you. It's the perfect place to pick up some stunning souvenirs. The swap meet also has some of the best produce you'll find anywhere, so bring your appetite.
Ho'okipa Beach Park
Hawaii is all about beaches, right? You don't want to miss out on Ho'okipa Beach Park, which is less than six miles from Kahului Airport. It has a large parking lot so you won't have to worry about where to put your rental car. It's a great spot for surfing, too. Perhaps best of all, you stand a good chance of spotting some sea turtles!
Almost as soon as your flight lands, you can begin enjoying the marvels of Maui.
