The U.S. Army Museum of Hawaii, located in Fort DeRussy, has more than a dozen exhibits about the role Hawaii has played in defending the U.S. Visitors learn about how soldiers lived, their equipment, and their training. It also includes a Gallery of Heroes that celebrates recipients of the Medal of Honor or the Distinguished Service Cross.

The Ala Wai Promenade gives long-distance travelers opportunities to stretch their legs while they walk along the Ala Wai Canal. After passing McCully Street, you enter the Ala Wai Community Park, which has even more green spaces that can calm frazzled nerves and help you readjust to your time spent in Honolulu.
